New in RAD CRM: 3-Bureau Soft Credit Pulls, Right Inside the CRM
Here’s a new one we’re excited about: RAD CRM now offers 3-bureau soft credit pulls, right inside the CRM. Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, pulled with a soft inquiry, without logging into another system or leaving the borrower’s record.
Why soft pulls matter
A hard inquiry is a commitment. It can nudge a borrower’s score, it shows up on their report, and plenty of people hesitate to authorize one before they’re sure they’re ready. That hesitation costs you conversations — the borrower who “just wants to see where they stand” often never gets to the point of a full application.
A soft pull changes that. It gives you a real look at the borrower’s credit across all three bureaus with no impact on their credit score. That makes it a much easier yes for the borrower, and a much better-informed first conversation for you.
What you can do with it
- Prequalify with real numbers. Know where a borrower actually stands before you talk programs, instead of working off a guess or a self-reported score.
- Spot issues early. Catch the collection, the high utilization, or the bureau-to-bureau discrepancy at the start — not three weeks into the file.
- Work your credit-building borrowers. For clients who aren’t ready yet, check in on their progress over time without dinging their score every time you look.
- Move faster on hot leads. When a lead comes in ready to talk, you can get a clear picture during the first conversation instead of scheduling a second one.
Why it lives in your CRM
The point isn’t just the credit pull — it’s that it happens in the same place you’re already working the borrower. No separate vendor login, no copying names and Social Security numbers between systems, no hunting for a PDF later. You’re in the contact, you pull credit, you keep moving.
It also pairs naturally with how RAD already works. The borrower who isn’t quite ready today can drop into a nurture campaign built for credit-building clients — regular check-ins, helpful reminders, and a follow-up when it’s time to take another look. The same consistency that keeps follow-up from falling through the cracks now carries through the credit side of the conversation too.
A quick word on doing it right
Soft pull or not, credit is the borrower’s information. Always get the borrower’s authorization before you pull, follow your company’s policies on how credit information is used and stored, and be clear with borrowers that a soft pull is not an application or a credit decision. Handled the right way, it’s one of the easiest ways to build trust early — you’re showing them exactly where they stand, at no cost to their score.
